Una tormenta ha dispersado a las gallinas de su granja. Juegas con la Leghorn: te despiertas solo en medio del bosque con un solo pensamiento, encontrar a las demás y volver a casa. Pero para cuando llegues, el gallinero ya tendrá un nuevo dueño.

Paper Spurs es un juego de plataformas 2D hecho de papel recortado: las gallinas, las criaturas, los árboles, incluso los golpes, que estallan en confeti. Cuatro mundos, cada uno con su propia luz: el bosque, el largo camino, la granja y el gallinero.

Tu escuadrón de gallinas

Diriges hasta tres gallinas: una delante y dos detrás que echan una mano por su cuenta, con plumas, huevos o un torbellino. Hay siete, y cada una salta a su manera: la Leghorn planea, la Silkie rebota en las espinas sin sufrir daño, la Brahma se zambulle y golpea, el gallo Rhode Island Red hace doble salto y patea con ambas espuelas, la Araucana corre por el aire y atraviesa la zarza, el Sussex gira como un torbellino y la Plymouth Rock carga su salto y llega más alto que nadie.

Un jefe al final de cada nivel

En los primeros cinco niveles de cada mundo espera un mini-jefe en su arena: la Rata Gorda, la Serpiente, el Tejón, la Marta de Piedra o el Jabalí. En el sexto, el jefe del mundo: el Viejo Zorro, el Perro de Camino, el Gato de Granero y, en lo profundo del gallinero, el Gallo Extraño. El nido de la meta solo aparece una vez que cae.

Golpes que encadenan

Pulsa ATAQUE al ritmo y tus golpes encadenan: uno, dos y un remate que salta y cae con fuerza. La cadena crece de mundo en mundo. Y cada gallina tiene su propio movimiento especial: una tormenta de plumas, un huevo gigante, un terremoto...

Mejoras y 100%

Gasta las mazorcas de maíz que ganes para mejorar el ataque, el salto y el especial de cada gallina. Completar un nivel al 100% (todo el maíz, todos los huevos y todas las criaturas) no abre puertas: es un desafío para quien quiera hacerlo, y el mapa recuerda lo que te perdiste.

24 niveles, 7 gallinas, las mejoras y los cuatro finales. Sin cuentas: no hay que registrarse, el progreso se guarda en tu equipo y se juega sin conexión. En inglés, español (España) y español latinoamericano.

Controles

Teclado: mover con flechas o WASD, Espacio salta, X ataca, C especial, Q cambia de gallina, Esc pausa, H ayuda.

Mando (Xbox, PlayStation y compatibles): joystick o cruceta mueven, A/X salta, RB/R1 ataca, RT/R2 especial, LB/L1 cambia de gallina, Start/Options pausa, View/Share ayuda.

Todo se cambia en Ajustes > Cambiar botones. El ratón sirve para los menús, la pausa y la fila de gallinas y, con la cámara XR desbloqueada (tecla C), para mirar.

Cámara XR y VR (novedad de la 1.2.0)

Paper Spurs sigue siendo un juego de plataformas lateral; ahora puedes mirarlo de otra manera. En Ajustes → Cámara eliges:

• Normal: la cámara de siempre. Es la que viene elegida.
• XR: vista libre en pantalla, sin gafas. El punto de vista acompaña a la gallina de lado y puedes mirar alrededor un poco hacia cada lado (sigue siendo un juego lateral).
• VR: con gafas de realidad virtual (OpenXR). Solo en Windows, y solo aparece si el juego detecta unas gafas conectadas. No existe en Mac ni en iPhone y iPad. Aviso honesto: en esta versión la VR con gafas todavía no se ha probado con gafas reales; si la pruebas, cuéntanos cómo va en los comentarios.

Se elige antes de empezar un nivel, no durante la partida. Es solo la cámara: los niveles, los enemigos, los controles y tu progreso son exactamente los mismos, y la demo y el juego completo llevan el mismo selector.

Controles de la vista XR (teclado, ratón y mando):

• Tecla C (o el botón Y del mando, o el botón VISTA en pantalla): bloquea o desbloquea el punto de vista. Con la vista desbloqueada el juego espera: mueve el ratón (o el stick derecho) para mirar, desplázala un poco con las flechas (o el stick izquierdo) y acerca o aleja con la rueda del ratón (o arriba y abajo de la cruceta). Vuelve a pulsar C y a jugar. Siempre se ve el juego de lado.
• Teclado de serie: flechas para moverte, Espacio saltar, Z ataque, X especial (se pueden cambiar en Ajustes → Cambiar botones).
• Con la vista desbloqueada el ratón queda capturado; sal con C, Esc o H.

En iPhone y iPad (App Store): Ajustes → Cámara → XR; toca VISTA para desbloquear, mira con un dedo o moviendo el móvil, desplaza y acerca con dos dedos, y toca FIJAR para volver a jugar.

A storm has scattered the hens from their farm. You play the Leghorn: you wake up alone in the middle of the woods with a single thought, find the others and get home. But by the time you do, the coop will already have a new owner.

Paper Spurs is a 2D platformer made of cut paper: the hens, the creatures, the trees, even the hits, which burst into confetti. Four worlds, each with its own light: the woods, the long road, the farm and the coop.

Your chicken squad

You lead up to three hens: one in front and two behind that help out on their own, with feathers, eggs or a whirlwind. There are seven, and each one jumps its own way: the Leghorn glides, the Silkie bounces off thorns unharmed, the Brahma dives and slams, the Rhode Island Red rooster double-jumps and kicks with both spurs, the Araucana runs through the air and cuts through the bramble, the Sussex spins like a whirlwind, and the Plymouth Rock charges its jump and goes higher than anyone.

A boss at the end of every level

In the first five levels of each world a mini-boss waits in its arena: the Fat Rat, the Snake, the Badger, the Stone Marten or the Boar. In the sixth, the world boss: the Old Fox, the Road Dog, the Barn Cat and, deep in the coop, the Strange Rooster. The goal nest only appears once it falls.

Combos

Tap ATTACK on the beat and your hits chain: one, two and a finisher that leaps and comes down hard. The chain grows from world to world. And every hen has its own special move: a feather storm, a giant egg, an earthquake...

Upgrades and 100%

Spend the corn cobs you earn to upgrade each hen's attack, jump and special. Completing a level 100% (all the corn, all the eggs and all the creatures) opens no doors: it is a challenge for whoever wants it, and the map remembers what you missed.

24 levels, 7 hens, the upgrades and the four endings. No accounts: no sign-up, your progress is saved on your machine and the game plays offline. In English, Spanish (Spain) and Latin American Spanish.

Controls

Keyboard: move with the arrow keys or WASD, Space jumps, X attacks, C special, Q switches hen, Esc pauses, H help.

Gamepad (Xbox, PlayStation and compatible): stick or d-pad to move, A/X jumps, RB/R1 attacks, RT/R2 special, LB/L1 switches hen, Start/Options pauses, View/Share help.

Everything can be remapped in Settings > Change buttons. The mouse works for menus, the pause screen and the hen row and, with the XR camera, for looking around once you unlock the view (C key).

XR and VR camera (new in 1.2.0)

Paper Spurs is still a side-on platformer; now you can look at it in a different way. In Settings → Camera you choose:

• Normal: the usual camera. It is the default.
• XR: a free-look view on your screen, no headset needed. The viewpoint follows the hen from the side and you can look around a little to each side (it is still a side-scroller).
• VR: with a virtual-reality headset (OpenXR). Windows only, and it only appears when the game detects a connected headset. It does not exist on Mac or on iPhone and iPad. Honest note: in this version VR with a headset has not been tested with a real headset yet; if you try it, tell us how it goes in the comments.

You pick it before a level starts, not during play. It is only the camera: levels, enemies, controls and your progress are exactly the same, and the demo and the full game have the same selector.

XR view controls (keyboard, mouse and gamepad):

• The C key (or the Y button on the gamepad, or the on-screen VIEW button) locks or unlocks the viewpoint. While it is unlocked the game waits: move the mouse (or the right stick) to look around, shift the view a little with the arrow keys (or the left stick) and zoom with the mouse wheel (or up and down on the D-pad). Press C again and play on. You always see the game from the side.
• Default keyboard: arrows to move, Space to jump, Z to attack, X for the special (changeable in Settings → Change buttons).
• While the view is unlocked the mouse is captured; leave with C, Esc or H.

On iPhone and iPad (App Store): Settings → Camera → XR; tap VIEW to unlock, look with one finger or by moving the device, shift and zoom with two fingers, and tap LOCK to play again.
